Keira at 4 months, one year and two years old
Meet Keira Rose and her mima, Sarah. Keira has been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). CF is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive systems of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene causes the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections and obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.

Keira's mom, Paige, is a 20 year-old single mom. For Keira's first birthday we setup a savings account to be used for her college education or medical emergencies. All proceeds from these auctions will be put directly into Keira's account, so bid generously :)

11/09/2008: We have had many people donate items to Keira's auction, and we can't thank those people enough. Since people have been so generous in Keira's support, I thought it was important that Keria not be the only beneficiary. To that end I have pledged to match 50% of the auction proceeds with a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation up to $500. So if the auction raises $1000 for Keira, I will separately donate $500 to the CFF.
